CHRISTIAN BENDIXEN HAVEN

As a principal consultant with IBA, Christian provides clients with years of experience in corporate strategic planning and the valuation of business enterprises, financial securities, international privatizations and intangible assets.

Prior to forming IBA, Christian led consulting teams for national firms, as a manager of Financial Valuation with Ernst & Young, and a vice-president of Business Valuation with Arthur Consulting Group.

Previously Christian was an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) in Business Valuation for over 20 years. And also previously he was a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).


 

Litigation. Christian has provided expert testimony in court and valuation studies for litigation support. He has testified both for and against the IRS. He prepared a major statistical analysis of illiquidity discounts of real estate partnerships that was used by the IRS for their reviews of partnership filings.

Christian also developed a scientific method for analyzing the economic depreciation and obsolescence of high technology equipment for Silicon Valley companies. Afterwards, he was part of a three-member state task force, where his schedules were adopted by Santa Clara County and then for the whole state of California.


 

International. He has extensive experience overseas in the valuation of foreign companies ranging from hydro-electric plants to steel mills, and from destination resorts to telecommunication companies. He has valued businesses in Brazil, Canada, China, Costa Rica, England, France, Honduras, Mexico, Norway, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland and Trinidad.


 

Corporate. Prior to consulting, Christian was an assistant controller and then head of planning for Dillingham, a $1.5-billion international conglomerate traded on the NYSE. So he knows corporate accounting and strategic planning. Previously, Christian was an account executive with IBM, marketing mainframe computer systems.


 

Christian has an MBA in Finance and a BA in Economics, having graduated magna cum laude from the Honors Program. He has done post-graduate work in Oilfield Economics at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and in Computer Systems at the University of Southern California with IBM. In addition, Christian passed the NASD/SEC exam and was a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

WILLIAM C. DIETRICH, ASA

As an associate consultant for IBA and an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA), Bill brings a wealth of experience in the valuation of equity interests and intangible assets. Prior to forming his own independent valuation firm, Bill was an analyst in ESOP Valuation for Kelso & Co., and a manager of Financial Valuation with Ernst & Young.


 

ESOPs. Bill has specialized in valuations of employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs) with a total of over 200 annual ESOP appraisals to date. The ESOP appraisal niche requires in-depth knowledge of the ERISA requirements of the Department of Labor and their unique applications.


 

Litigation. He is a Complex-Case Panelist with the American Arbitration Association (AAA) and handles large case rulings and damage conclusions.


 

International. The valuation of state-owned enterprises was performed by Bill for several major companies in Poland and Hungary. He has also performed appraisals of firms in Canada, Egypt, Trinidad and Switzerland.


 

Bill has BS and BA degrees in Finance and Organizational Behavior from the University of California at Berkeley. And has done post-graduate MBA studies at the California State University at Hayward.
